Egan Funeral Directors is a family-focused funeral service based in Youghal, supporting local families with care, clarity and professionalism. We understand how difficult it can be to make decisions after a bereavement, and our role is to guide you gently through each stage of the arrangements.
Every family has different needs, and we take time to listen, offer advice and put plans in place at a pace that feels right. From the first phone call, we focus on providing steady support and looking after every detail on your behalf.
Our purpose-built funeral home in Greencloyne offers a calm, welcoming environment with two chapels, a family room and ample parking. It was designed to be both modern and comfortable, with energy-efficient heating throughout and a warm, homely atmosphere.
Our mission is simple: to provide a dignified, professional service centred on your wishes.

The origins of the business date back to the late 1880s, when John and Martha Dill of Youghal began crafting coffins as part of their furniture-making business. By 1890, this developed into a dedicated undertaking service for the local community.
The Egan family acquired the firm in the 1930s and continued to build its reputation for care and professionalism.
In 1999, Colin Bulman joined the business as in-house embalmer, becoming a partner in 2002 and later taking ownership in 2006. Over more than a century, the firm has evolved while remaining committed to its core values of service, respect and personal attention.
We are committed to maintaining high professional standards in every aspect of our work.
Our credentials include:
β’ Membership of the Professional Embalmers Association of Ireland
β’ Ongoing development of our facilities, equipment and vehicles
β’ A commitment to clear communication and personal attention
β’ Complete confidentiality in all interactions with the families we serve
These values guide how we work and ensure you receive a consistently supportive and professional service.
